From the RAV back to work: The complete roadmap for Switzerland 2026

You have now read all parts of the series: understood arbeit.swiss, registered with the RAV, calculated daily allowances, activated Job-Room. What is missing is the common thread — the concrete roadmap that brings everything together.

The path from the RAV back to work is no accident. It is a system. Whoever knows the system and uses the right tools wins — on average significantly earlier than average.

The complete roadmap: Step by step

Phase 1: Immediate measures (Days 1–7)

Day 1 (at the latest):

  • Initiate RAV registration (Online via Job-Room or directly at the RAV)
  • Keep calm: You are entitled to daily allowances — even if it doesn't feel like it

Days 2–3:

  • Revise CV to be RAV-compliant → PARAT CV-Wizard
  • Create Job-Room candidate profile (→ Part 4)
  • Contact the unemployment fund (ALK) and fill out the ALK registration form

Days 4–7:

  • First RAV consultation (usually within the first week)
  • Actively start job hunting — at least on these platforms:
    • job-room.ch (official jobs, including subject to reporting obligation)
    • LinkedIn, Jobs.ch, Indeed as a supplement
  • Set up PARAT Application Management

Phase 2: The monthly rhythm

Ongoing (daily or weekly):

  • Send out applications — goal: tailored, high-quality dossiers
  • Document every application immediately in PARAT
  • Track feedback (rejections, invitations, silence)

Monthly deadlines:

  • Submit the PAB form (proof of personal job search efforts) on time
  • ZIP export from PARAT: all proofs bundled at the push of a button
  • RAV consultation meeting: appear professional, show progress

Phase 3: Optimization and acceleration

  • Tailor cover letters with PARAT's AI Writer
  • Evaluate feedback from rejections and adjust your application dossier
  • Activate network: LinkedIn, industry events, direct contacts
  • Use public PARAT profile: parat.pro/p/your-name — shareable with HR contacts

  1. arbeit.swiss: The Portal — What the federal government offers and what it doesn't
  2. RAV Registration — Step by step, with timing tips
  3. ALV Daily Allowances — Calculation, duration, avoiding suspension days
  4. Job-Room — Job reporting obligation and your head start
  5. This article — The complete roadmap

The Swiss system is good — but it won't do the work for you. PARAT does.
