Automatically Record RAV Job Search Efforts: End Duplicate Record-Keeping
Anyone receiving daily allowances from the Unemployment Insurance Fund (ALV) in Switzerland is obligated under the Unemployment Insurance Act (AVIG) to provide monthly proof of personal job search efforts.
In practice, this means you must provide evidence of at least 10 to 12 high-quality job applications per control period. Until now, many job seekers kept two lists in parallel: their own notes or spreadsheet — and at the end of the month, entering the data into Job-Room.ch (eServices).
With the new automation tools in PARAT, we are putting an end to this duplicate record-keeping.
Why Duplication of Effort Is Error-Prone
When data is manually transferred from one place to another, typical sources of error arise:
- Forgotten data: An application from the beginning of the month gets lost in your emails.
- Missing proof: Rejection emails or confirmations of receipt are not saved as evidence.
- Risk of penalty days: If the proof is not submitted by the 5th day of the following month at the latest, you risk RAV suspension days.
The Solution: The Integrated RAV Proof Board
In PARAT, your job search activities and applications come together in one central place:
- Discover job opportunities: You spot an interesting listing in your Smart Matches.
- 1-click bookmarking: By clicking the "Save for RAV" button, the job offer is immediately saved to your tracking board along with all metadata (company, position, location, URL).
- Generate application: Create your cover letter using the integrated AI. The status automatically changes to "Applied".
- Monthly export: On the due date, download the completed, legally compliant PDF and submit it to the RAV.
Frequently Asked Questions About Automatic Proof
Will my RAV advisor accept this format?
Yes. SECO does not prescribe a rigid layout, but requires that all mandatory information is complete (date, company, position, type of application, outcome). The PARAT PDF strictly complies with these SECO guidelines.
What happens to my notes?
You can add custom notes to each job listing (e.g., contact person's name, call date). These are neatly included in the proof document.
Conclusion
Automate your application documentation from day one. This keeps you in control at all times and allows you to submit your proof relaxed at the end of the month.
