Proof of Personal Work Efforts: The Job-Room Upload Hack

Every month, the same ritual repeats in Switzerland: the RAV requests the "Proof of Personal Work Efforts" (PAB). Since the introduction of eServices on Job-Room, many job seekers are expected to enter their efforts digitally. That means: log in, click on "Enter new effort", select the date, type in the company name, look up the contact person, specify the type of application – and repeat the whole thing 10 to 12 times in a row.

Anyone who has done this before knows: it is an extremely tedious, error-prone, and time-consuming task. However, there is a legal and officially permitted "hack" that many don't know about, which cuts this process down to less than two minutes for you.

The Problem: The Online Form Takes Time

The problem with the Job-Room form isn't digitization itself, but rather the way data is entered. Most job seekers already maintain a list – whether in Excel, on a notepad, or in a tool. As the deadline approaches (usually the 5th day of the following month), duplicate work begins: you have to transfer all the information you already have into an online form once again.

Errors happen quickly during this process: a typo in the date, a forgotten application, or a lost proof/receipt. Furthermore, the RAV increasingly demands concrete proof, especially for online applications. These must be uploaded separately as attachments. Chaos is often inevitable.

The Solution: The PDF Upload "Hack"

What many counselors don't explicitly mention during the initial consultation (even though it is completely legal): You are not forced to type each effort into the online form individually.

SECO and the unemployment funds accept a clear, tabular PDF document as full proof. In the Job-Room eService portal, there is an option to simply upload a summary document instead of entering individual items. As long as this document contains all legally required columns (date, company, contact person, result, etc.), your duty is 100% fulfilled.

How the Process Works in Job-Room:

  1. Log in to Job-Room (eServices).
  2. Navigate to the "Proof of Personal Work Efforts" section.
  3. Instead of clicking "Enter new effort", look for the option to upload documents/proof.
  4. Upload your compiled PDF containing the tabular overview.
  5. Submit the month. Done.

How Do I Create the Perfect PDF?

Of course, at the end of the month you could put together an Excel table and save it as a PDF. However, there is still the risk of forgetting an important column or having the layout broken when printing/formatting.

This is precisely where PARAT comes in. PARAT is not just a tool for creating your Swiss CV, but a complete application dashboard.

The 1-Click Workflow with PARAT:

If you log your applications continuously in the PARAT tracker (which takes only seconds each time), the tool does all the work for you at the end of the month:

  • All required fields are integrated: PARAT knows exactly what data the RAV requires (assignment, speculative application, date, company, result).
  • 1-Click Export: You go to "Export" and click on "PARAT Overview PDF".
  • Perfect Branding: You receive a clean, professional A4 PDF in a perfect tabular format.
  • Bonus: If you need to include supporting documents, you can package all files at once using the "ZIP Export".

Simply upload this PARAT-generated PDF to Job-Room. No more manual typing. No more wasted hours.

Tip: If you want to impress your RAV counselor at your next meeting, present them with this neatly formatted PDF. It demonstrates professionalism and structure – exactly what employers (and RAV counselors) want to see.
